In Your Ears Vol5

banks-brain-video

Hey, sorry, I’m back.

I got distracted by the nice weather and became very, very busy schmoozing with men in suits on Bay St patios and two stepping in Detroit, I know, it’s a tough life. But, nevertheless, I have not stopped chattin shit or listening to music. Along with witnessing a crazy Loco Dice B2B Carl Cox set at Movement, I have been assaulting Soundcloud daily in order to not commit manslaughter on the TTC. Okay, I’m exaggerating, but I do have a cornucopia of tracks to share with you.

It was worth the wait, I swear.

“Hustle”- Popcaan ft. Pusha T

Yesterday, Jamaican superstar Popcaan released his debut album- Where We Come From. It’s littered with ignorant lyrics laid out perfectly over dancehall beats. This track is the first single off the album and features a stellar verse from Pusha T- a favourite of mine. But it’s that hook I can’t get enough of. Hustle for the money.

“Hella Hoes”- A$AP Mob

The mob is back in the best way possible. Hello Hoes contains everything you want in an A$AP Mob track- witty lines form Ferg, gun shots, lines about drug money, and A$AP Rocky exclaiming how he’s still the prettiest of them all.

“Truth”- Brachez

His twitter bio says Branchez is a producer from NYC trying to write hits. If he keeps up this level of production, I’m sure he’ll be writing a few.

“Drowning” Banks (Love They Brother Remix)

Banks should be on your radar, and should have been there for awhile. Her vocals seem to fit flawlessly over a variety of tempos, synths and drum kits. The beat on this track is just too good not to vibe to. Please, to whoever has a car, drive around with the window down and tell me it feels amazing. The streetcar doesn’t quite give me the same feeling. Sad, Cbear.

“Pandora’s Box”- Roses Gabor & Toddla T (Bicardi Beginnings)

THAT DRUM KICK. WOW. But let’s not forget her voice, the synths, the arrangement, the lyrics, and everything else that makes this song addicting.

“Into You”- Kwabs

You have to like this. His vocals are the only thing more powerful than Chuck Norris. Feel it, Chuck.

Told ya it was worth the wait.
