Today, the Coachella line up was announced. LCD Soundsystem is getting back together to headline one of the days, while the other two are headlined by Guns n Roses(also a reunion tour), and Calvin Harris.
LCD would be great to see but I’d skip Mr. Taylor Swift (are they still a thing?) and Axel.
Maybe it’s just me. Actually, I know it is, but those three headliners could not do less for me. The line up does have some standouts like The Black Madonna, Digweed, and Run the Jewels but I’m not making the trip to the desert just yet.
Also today, the first after party of my most favourite weekend of the year, Movement Electronic Music Festival, was announced.
The “Ain’t no party like a Detroit party because a Detroit party don’t stop” was announced today.
This I am much more excited for.
The party is headlined by Octave One (heavy breathing), and supported by Terrence Dixon, Detroit Techno Militia, and Asher Perkins takes place on May 29th, the second day of the festival. This is usually the time I accept that the reality outside Detroit doesn’t come closer to making me feel the way I do when I leave the Beatport Stage to travel to the Made in Detroit Stage, before leaving the festival and hitting the hotel before another night out. No. The way I feel when in Detroit far surpasses any feeling I have when living in reality.
So take your rock and roll and your hot California dessert. I’ll be in Detroit with the heads.
